Seems like a good idea and I have observed some of those welcomes.

I don’t know, but I would like to be an ambassador.

after a few months of this site coming online, they asked people to become ambassadors. I was one of the first. after the site started taking off, they decided the roll was no longer needed, and they quit the ambassador roll.
Now they have decided to bring it back.
We try to welcome as many of the new members that we can. We try to help with maybe locating services if we are able to. We try to help people around the site.
The administration comes to us and asks us about ideas and thoughts on how to improve the site. So the roll of the ambassador is to keep things current and up to date for all the members.
If anybody has ideas for the site, or something that you think could make the site better, let an ambassador know, and we can forward that on to right people. I came to this site in November 2016, just two months after this site was launched. There was less than 1,500 people worldwide on this site when I joined, now were at or nearing 40,000.
I used to welcome every single person individually, share where they were from, country they were from. After awhile just too many people joining all at once was getting too much. I went from welcoming 3 or 4 people a week, to 15 or 20 a day once I stopped doing that. Now I just catch them when I see them and I know I don't get everyone.
Also, we try to keep the peace between feuding people.
