Does Anyone Double Up On Their HIV ARTs On Date Night?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

A friend told me that he doubles up on his HIV meds on date night since he doesn't use condoms.
Any advice?

Don’t think that would make a difference in fact the side effects are probably worse

Yikes, I'm not a Dr. I just work for four of them and I'm pretty sure they would all say don't do this. Taking double meds won't make your friend super undetectable for the date, as long as they take their meds daily they should have their viral load under control & double meds is probably wreaking havok on their body.

Not likely to protect against STDs which should be the focus once you are U=U. The HIV is already managed successfully.
