I have a HIV doctor that I see twice a year but I am having a difficult time finding a new primary care doctor here in central Florida. They either are not accepting new patients or won't return my call. Thank goodness I don't have any health issues but it would be great if i could find one.

It probably depends on where you are seen and by whom you are seen. In the past I have had multiple doctors at once and it was too much for me to worry about. I would have to repeat my issues and explain things over and over again to them all, some of them spoke to each other but at the end of the day it was up to me to do all the work or making sure I was getting the help I needed.

Now I make sure that my immunologist/infectious disease doctor is my PCP as well and also make sure that this doctor is in touch with any other specialist(s) I might need such as a GI doctor. Try to keep your healthcare as simple as possible for your own sake, it's hard enough worrying about and living with the condition.

I see my primary care doctor for physicals, regular health checks, etc. And I see ID doctor yearly now. They both talk with each other.
