What did you do for World AIDS Day? Mine was a flag raising ceremony and a proclamation by our city mayor. My little brother was extremely happy to be there. When I hopefully see him tomorrow afternoon I will educate him on what HIV/AIDS truly is and I will tell him that I have this chronic illness.

Members shared meaningful ways they observed World AIDS Day, including attending flag raisings, candlelight vigils, viewing the AIDS Memorial Quilt, and participating in commemorative events honoring those lost and living with HIV. Several members described deeply personal moments, such as coming out to loved ones about their status and receiving affirming support, posting publicly on social media to raise awareness, and lighting candles or saying prayers in remembrance of friends and community members who have passed. A recurring theme was gratitude for modern treatment like Biktarvy, reflection on decades of living with HIV, and the importance of education, visibility, and honoring both the past and the ongoing fight against stigma.
