Medication Storage

Can you store your medication in kitchen cabinets. I have been storing them in kitchen cabinet next to dishwasher there is a counter top above dishwasher. Does the heat from dishwasher get cabinets hot where they would interact with my meds or am I just getting paranoid

Members reassured someone concerned about storing HIV medication near a dishwasher, with the overwhelming consensus being that cabinet storage is perfectly fine, especially since many have used similar spots for years while maintaining undetectable status. Several members shared their own storage methods, including kitchen drawers, countertops, medicine cabinets, and even a cooler bag, emphasizing that a cool, dry, stable location away from direct heat sources like toasters is ideal but that most modern medications are more resilient than we might think. A recurring theme was that decades of successful treatment and maintained viral suppression among members proved their storage methods were working well, offering peace of mind to anyone worried about proper medication care.

I keep mine zipped up in a cooler bag. The kind that keeps drinks cold or hot. I’ve used it since day one in 1994!!! Wooow 30 years!!!

I also store my pill bottle in the cabinet above the dishwasher. I’ve never thought about this, but I don’t think it would be an issue. My dishwasher doesn’t really give off heat, and I’ve been undetectable for over a year, so I wouldn’t think the pills have been affected.
