I had been with my ID Provider for 9 years. In the last 3 years, there has been a turnover of 4 Doctors. The last doctor and I never bonded and my last visit, I left the office in a bit of a rage (nothing pertaining to my heath. Personality conflict).
I decided to Fire him and find a new provider, which I meet with [Interview] on the 29th of June
Today, I received a call from the previous provider stating the Doctor is no longer with their office and asked me to schedule a new… read more
I agree with you. Unfortunately I'm hearing this more and more and perhaps it's because the day of people getting sick from HIV is not something these new doctors worry about. I myself have a specialist in HIV who is also a research scientist in hiv. His passion is HIV and we get along. I do hope this new doctor and you find common ground.
Thanks for responding. But, with more details than I care to publicize, I did use the term Fired. We are paying them them, so yes, we can Fire them.
I just had this one guy from the st. Louis area he's good he knows his stuff and they due offer some things I didn't know they did like they help with your utility, they find you a place to live, they help with food card, make sure you have ride to your appointment I really haven't hade yet no problem TTYL 😊 I see mine again on Tuesday to resign up again
I am on my 5th provider since my diagnosis in 2010. 1st one moved on to teach in higher education for hiv. 2nd and 3rd one I fired more or less. 4th one fired me More or less. He only wanted to see me once a yr and I wanted to be seen twice a year. So now I'm at the Ryan White clinic and I like the Dr but wish I could go back to the last Dr I had. I just really liked him.
Though I don't think I used the term fired but I did go to the head of the HIV clinic I was going to and asked to be moved to a different ID doctor within the same clinic. The doctor I had been seeing was extremely aggressive with me and treated me like I was being a little snowflake when I had a concern. Obliviously we didn't see eye to eye at all and I dreaded my appointments with a passion. The head of the clinic was sort of fractious when I asked for a different doctor but granted my wish when I told her that I would probably "go out of care" if she made me remain with the same doctor. I saw that doctor for the next 15 years until she retired. She was an angel.
