Trump Promises To End AIDS And Protect Preexisting Conditions In State Of Union Address:
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Last night, February 4, Trump promised the nation that “we will eradicate the AIDS epidemic in America by the end of the decade.” Trump also promised this: “I have also made an ironclad pledge to American families: We will always protect patients with preexisting conditions—that is a guarantee. And he bragged that last year “for the first time in 51 years, the cost of prescription drugs

Why Has My Memory Gotten So Bad?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Here lately I'm having problems rembering to do daily things such as taking my meds, making and keeping appointments, duties at work given to me less than 30 mins beforehand, plans I make with friends and family, birthdays and even sometimes forget to feed my animals as well as myself. I have to set alarms and write reminders to myself and rely on others to remind me to do most things. Anyone else having this problem?

Are You Finding It Harder To Remember Things?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

In the past year or so I have noticed I'm getting very forgetful. And easily distracted. I know HIV can cause memory loss. And of course the meds, and age. Only one of those could make one forgetful. Memories of the past are sharp way back, but foggier approaching the present. I took a memory test once about 10 years ago and didn't do so hot. I'm feeling I need to take a memory test again because this is really affecting my life and confidence.

Anyone else feeling more forgetful these… read more

Is Anyone Using Dovato
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Dovato was first approved by the FDA in April 2019 as a complete regimen for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2018 due to the TDF component in Atripla. So switched to Biktarvy even though it still had TAF which which also could contribute to osteoporosis but at a 90% reduction compared to TDF. Dovato a two-drug combination that replaces the typical three-drug cocktail doesn't have anything resembling TDF or TAF according to my HIV specialist, who… read more

I don't remember if I answered this already, but I am using Dovato. Three or four years and counting. The main reason for the switch was due to my osteoporosis at such a young age, as well as a better… read more

Finances
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

This is a post I posted over a year ago
How do you keep up with your monthly finances, and still stay afloat? I can keep up with my monthly bills, and daily living just fine. Then when the doctor bills come along, I just can't handle it all. So then I'm late on paying bills. I get food stamps and go to food pantries, but that's not enough. Sometimes I get help through HOPWA (housing opportunity people with AIDS), but that's only for 3 months. What kind of help do you get to keep afloat every… read more

Scott, you are correct in that Trump is passing a bill that will fund HIV prevention, testing, and treatment in areas with the highest statistics of new HIV infections. The black gay population has… read more

How Often Do Each Person Experience Brain Fog?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Lately, I realized I’m forgetting a bit more. It’s not noticeable but enough for me to question it. I don’t remember certain things I learned, at time I’m spaced out and once back I’m in panic mode. Is it due to the hiv, the anxiety and depression?
Currently on Biktarvy, Escitalopram and Amitriptyline
