@A myHIVteam Member. Not silly, or small, or anything like that... our appearance is crucial to our self esteem. It's not for others, but for ourselves. We must be comfortable with our own appearance.

Unlike HIV infection, which we must learn to accept, our teeth can be improved upon. Flexible partials are not terribly expensive. They are comfortable, look attractive, and work well for eating. I no longer have any place in my mouth where I have upper and lower teeth that meet. I'd be sunk without them.

Call your plan, and have them give you a provider in your area. If that doesn't work. Change plans. In the meantime, ask your HIV provider for a caseworker who can help you with Ryan White coverage. They pay for dental. Good teeth are absolutely necessary for good health.
