Members offered thoughtful strategies for managing unavoidable relationships with people who create drama, with the strongest consensus being to establish and maintain firm boundaries, limit time spent together, and prioritize personal health over maintaining peace. Several members shared practical approaches including placing the person in an imaginary box, ending conversations when drama starts, loving them from a distance, and recognizing that some relationships require more effort than they return. A recurring theme was the courage it takes to choose your own wellbeing over toxic family dynamics, even when it means missing holidays or sacrificing other valued relationships.

I just separate myself from the toxic people. Which is hard right now because I live with two of them. However I'm going to be getting my own space which is great because I'm basically a loner anyway. Everyone have a beautiful day.

Put them in an imaginary box and limit your time with them. Make it clear to them that you no longer want to participate in drama. When they start with the drama just say that's drama and you have to go and end the call or leave. Set your boundary stick to it and don't feel bad, it will be healthier for you and the other person.
