Never claim anything until you have proof it's true
Early on, the medications caused more side effects because they were less specific to the virus. Protease inhibitors had that problem. They inhibited human proteins along with viral proteins. At this stage, most of the meds that had those side effects are no longer in use. The meds now are pretty virus specific. They attack stages in viral replication that have no corollary in human cell replication.
There are a lot of theories and a lot of myths out there but it has been proven to be facts that the medication do affect your kidney and your liver enzymes. If you think about it the medications are chemicals that your body is not used to having it makes sense that there would be some side effects.
Thank you for your question. I had a number of complications stemming from Bad nightmares, insomnia, digestive disorder and insomnia ....in the early days of taking my medications. I worked diligently with my doctor along with his advice on a genotype test to help me determine which antivirals I had become immune to and which were causing me distress. I finally came up with the cocktail that I'm on today. What I would suggest is that you talk to your doctor about your quality of life from the side effects of these antivirals. You and you alone can decide this. If your doctor does not agree then replace him or her.❤
I just wanted to add not only the actual pharmaceutical effects of these medications do have long-term effects such as kidney failure heart disease and so forth. That is unmistakably factual. But on the other hand I think some of us once we get diagnosed we lose hope and therefore exercise sexual appetite and the love of life fades. That is why it's so important that these venues such as this platform exist.
