It's been difficult for me lately to accept that I won't have the life I thought I would pre-pandemic after getting COVID twice as well as HIV. I feel like I've become increasingly debilitated physically and cognitively and I'm unsure what the rest of my life will look like. Does anyone have any advice on prioritizing your health and happiness?
I have been met with many challenges since I've become poz+. One thing I know for sure it gets better health wise and life. Just don't give up keep pushing forward....
Hello my friend and Welcome to our family. Please know that HIV is a lifestyle. It's not a lifestyle that we chose but it's a lifestyle that we now have. Having said that know that along with this lifestyle comes nutrition, exercise, meditation, work and so much more. You can live the life you've had before but you just must take extra care of your health going forward. Have a good doctor by your side and take your meds on a regular basis. Stay close here if you need us.
It takes quite a while to be ok mentally, i found a great therapist who definitely helped a ton, and then talked to my GP about seeing a psychiatrist. Best decision I’ve ever made!
You will conquer this in no time at all. As our other teammates mentioned, commit to taking care of yourself and do yourself right by taking your ART as prescribed and daily, once you have attained an "Undetectable" status, the rest is cake, However, you still have an obligation to yourself for the remainder of your life.
You will have the life you want; you will conquer this condition.
Prioritizing your health and happiness all begins with you and only you @A myHIVteam Member Time is on your side because you are still young my friend.
Have at it!
