If you don't have a medical case manager, then you need to get one. If you have one, then you need to ask them about HOPWA to help pay for housing, ask them about ryan white food pantries for food. Ask them about Ryan White HIV/AIDS Part F: Dental Programs

Just about anything you need a medical case manager can help, but you have to be referred by them or they have to do the paperwork.
Here in Michigan Ryan White services bought me new clothes for work and job interviews. paid my electric bill for 4 months, paid my water bill for 4 months.
So ask about this Ryan White part F dental assistance. It's a first come first serve until funds run out for the year, then you have to wait until the next year to reapply. October is the beginning of the new fiscal year when they get funded, which is 3 months away.

@A myHIVteam Member, it says a lot about you, taking accountability and being responsible for your health and dental care. I'm not sure If this will help you but I go to Aids Project Los Angeles Dental Clinic. It might not hurt to call and see If they can offer any assistance. I don't know. Just remember the time difference. L.A., is 3 hrs behind you.

@A myHIVteam Member, I'm proud of you for talking about this. You're taking responsibility for your life.

I would encourage you to reach out to your primary/ HIV doctor's office or department of social services and talk to them about your HIV diagnosis and about how to proceed with dental work.. They can put you in touch with a social worker who is suppose to know of resources for you to get the help you need and deserve to manage your dental.

Are you nervous about reaching
out to them ?

We do care. 😘

Cynthia
