I am undetectable since last year and i had my first time flu about couple days ago and decided to take multivitamins. Is it ok if i take multivitamins everyday at day time and ARVs at night? I'm afraid that it will decrease my ARVs function because i have partner to protect. Is there anybody here who consume multivitamins everyday for a long period of time?
NB: Sorry my english is very terrible, i am Asian.
My doctor said I should take a 50+ multi, due to my age, and have been doing so since I was diagnosed. So for almost 10 years now.
@A myHIVteam Member, yes it's fine to take multivitamins when being on ARVs. There is though 1 issue with this. Do NOT take multivitamins within 3 hours of your ARVs because then it WILL affect your ARVs. If you're taking your multivitamins in the morning and ARVs at night, that is perfectly fine.
I like @A myHIVteam Member started on AZT and I have been and still am on a multi vitamin and many others and my care team believes that they are very important. I run all vitamins and supplements through my care team. Only after my heart surgery did they take me off one.
