I always listen attentively because I treat people how I want to be treated. Plus you never know if the person is actually crying out for help. I'm the matriarch of my family and it's been a bit of a challenge being at family gathering with these young folks. So I usually watch and inquire about things they're talking about. Yes change is hard but it's mandatory if you're going to connect with this generation. I'm making sure I can relate to the next generation so I'm able to understand their needs. This world is more wicked and cruel and how can I witness the gospel if I can't reach or understand. Just concentrate and remember respect and communication are essential for ANY successful relationship.
