I'm not on it but at my last appointment my Dr and I discussed it some. She said we will make a decision and see if my insurance will cover it at my next appointment. The problem with getting a shot for me is its monthly and I live an hour away from my Dr. So I'm not sure I want it because of that but I think if you are close to where you have to go to get the shot and it works for you. That would be the way to go
Have you had a genotype and resistance blood panel done as well? Interested how they compare.
@A myHIVteam Member it could have been part of your genotyping results. That tells you if you are sensitive or resistant to a particular drug class. A lot of people don't know this, but when doctors do a urine culture for a UTI, the results come back with a list of antibiotics and which ones are resistant and which ones are sensitive. That way they aren't prescribing something that won't work. This was my genotype result (thankfully, I was sensitive to all of them)
It never hurts to get a second opinion. Maybe another Dr will see it differently than your current Dr
My doctor sent in a form a couple weeks ago to my insurance company to see if they will cover it. We tried once but they denied it. Maybe this time they will approve it and cover it
