If your HIV positive 1, and your on daily medication.
Can you still contract HIV 2?
(For an example) lets say someone has HIV 2 and the other person has HIV 1
But HIV 1 person takes a daily HIV medication.
Can that person still contract HIV 2.
Basically if you're already positive can you still contract, a different HIV strand....
I know taking medication keeps your numbers good.
But does it help from getting a different strain??
That's a great question, I'd think you'd have to make sure that medicine works against it. Biktarvy has HIV-1 written all over it. It doesn't have any indications for HIV -2.

I guess the real question is if someone has HIV 1 and is taking an ART, shouldn't the HIV 2 cells be blocked by the ART?
I thought the ART meds worked for HIV 1 and 2.
