Has Anyone But Particularly Women Experienced Severe Hair Loss Before Starting Their HIV Medication?
I lost all of the hair on my crown. It started gradually and just spread over time. It was very painful but sporadic. When it happened my head felt like it was eing stabbed with hot pins and then my hair thinned until it was gone. Since being on meds my hair has returned but not completely. Does this, or anything like it, sound familiar to anyone and what have you done about the hair loss?
My hair did fell out when I switch meds, but then I tried aloe and coconut oil, did the treatment three times a week and now I have too much hair, is very easy just blend about two inches of aloe ( just the inside) with two ounces of coconut oil any brand will do, leave it on your hair for 30 minutes then wash you hair normally. I hope thus help..
Thank you Noemi you're a star, I'm assuming you mean natural aloe and coconut oil and not bottled products? I'll give this a try and update you on my progress.
I do not believe hair loss has been actually proven by taking antiviral medication for hiv. But think about one thing? Just how many different hiv antiviral drugs are really out there! Too many which leads me to believe?? Well you get the point!

Remember tv commercial for truvada for anyone having sex to stop the risk of contracting Hiv. Then the Ban on the commercial and lawsuits!
Now commercial's stating to use Bitarvy and Descovy to stop the risk of becoming positive for Hiv. Bitarvy is the #1 antiviral drug for positive hiv people to use and Descovy is also for positive hiv people to use who may want to become pregnant! And become undetectable.
The US health department needs to explain this BS ! People who don't have hiv or ever and taking Bitarvy or Descovy to keep from getting Hiv is bullshit when those drugs were created for people living with HIV specifically!
My point is this Hiv antiviral drug thing is all bs. Even though it has been put in my mind that i have to take it.
Yea, Mine thinned out. I had cornrows. It filled back in once I got on my meds. I ended up cutting it because it was uneven.
