How Well Is Your HIV Care According To The Seasons?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Now that winter is trying to slowly rear it's ugly face into our life and Autumn is upon us (here north of the equator), is your HIV care differently in the winter than in the spring, fall, or summer? Do you have issues making it to your appointments (people living in the northern climates or mountain areas) because of the snow? Are you able to make it to the doctor fine when the weather is bad? How is your care differently (if it is at all) in the winter than the rest of the seasons?

I hate cold winters and is why I’m in Texas. Cold weather didn’t seem to do well for my health personally. My labs greatly improved when I moved and weren’t bad to begin with really. I wouldn’t worry about missing an appointment. You can always reschedule. Never stress about things cause they do you no good.

Only see my doctor twice a year! Was only seeing once a year, but they want to make money! 😆 I can read my own lab results, don’t need them to tell me what they say!

It gets pretty cold here in East Texas, I have Neuropathy in both legs and feet, it gets worse, but I deal with it. I have Osteonecrosis in both hips and have to have both hips replaced...in the cold it's worse, cause it feels like someone has butcher knives in both hips turning them back and forth constantly... it's very painful!! My PTSD, Bi-Polar, Clinical Depression, Anxiety, and Panic Attacks seem to get worse, but I do make it to most appointments
