Was wondeing what you all consider long term. 15 years here
I'm at year 33! Unfortunately for the first time in my life I have to admit that I'm sinking fast and I'm starting to lose hope! Let me say to all the young ones and those who have been recently diagnosed that I'm almost 70 so my age is working against me! You can have a long and wonderful life as long as you take care of yourself! You have the power to decide what direction you want to take and drug use, alcohol abuse and unprotected sex will shorten your life! I pray you make the right decisions and are able to reach the level I have or even surpass it!
We are all in this together 🤗🤔😊
32 years poz for me. I relate to what Zail said. I am in my sixties and have been taking meds since 1996, at toxic levels, and then put on new less toxic meds as they came out up to now. So my doctors say I am in kind of uncharted territory as they don't really know how to treat long term survivors, no medical book on that, so they treat symptoms and try to keep virus in check. Basically my docs say having the virus a long time, taking medication for such a long time, and my age all contribute to my current health status, which isn't good.
No picnic!
That's llloonngg enough🤗🤗🤗🤗
12 years here. I think of long term as 20 years or more.
