Members shared deeply personal reflections on what they would change about themselves, with recurring themes around body image, loneliness, and self-acceptance emerging throughout the conversation. Several members expressed wishes to change physical appearance or HIV status, while many others shared struggles with trusting others less, managing anger or anxiety better, and overcoming feelings of isolation and depression. A powerful counter-theme emerged as numerous members affirmed they wouldn't change anything at all, describing how their HIV journey and life experiences, both good and bad, have shaped them into who they are today, with many expressing gratitude for the supportive community they've found and the self-acceptance they've worked hard to achieve.

This might sound crazy but I wouldn’t change anything currently because I have been positive since 2005 and this journey changed me a whole lot since. I got to focus more on my self and my path in life true I still struggle with grief and pain but I won’t let it stop me.

I would want to be skinny and muscular maybe people would like me more. As a heavyset guy not many people even want to talk to me let alone be my friend. People are very superficial like that. Plus no one seems to think of me as boyfriend material which really sucks because I’m boyfriend and husband material combined but my looks aren’t Star or Greek god so I get ignored. I have a few great looking guys I hang around with but most people I meet try to become my friend only to sleep with the good looking guys I know and then they ignore me once they get what they want.

I am already there and it still remains a work in progress. Quitting tobacco in July 2020 was the best thing I did for myself that year. Now to try and shed the excess 25 pounds I have put on since quitting.
