Marijuana & HIV Positive?

Helpful or harmful? I would like to know others opinion on it. Before my diagnosis I was a HEAVY weed & cigarette smoker but, once I got my diagnosis I quit cold turkey. I've cheated of course here and there but, a major difference than before my diagnosis. I was too paranoid that I would get some lung infection. I know cigarettes are a big absolute no-no. But I loves MJ lol. However, some articles I read online say not to smoke while HIV positive but, I've read medical marijuana helps a lot… read more

Well I don't use cigarettes,or,mary jane, but if the weed will help my pain,im willing to hit a joint, every now and then,if I can walk without being in pain all the time.i have a simple minded doctor, and she took me off Percocets, and flexarill, just because she doesn't believe in giving narcotics for pain,so I'm willing to puff puff pass, lol

I too gave up smoking cigarettes. Congratulations btw. I've never stopped my light usage of weed and I find it very useful with getting in touch with how I'm feeling below the surface. It also inspires me to focus on meditation and keeping myself flexible and in shape. There has been no damage to my lungs and my tests come back with great numbers. All that being said my involvement with the HIV community has taught me how rare two people respond the same way to the same stimuli.
