A year ago, I developed a horrible case of Shingles. As you know, Shingles is fairly common with those of us with a compromised immune system. After a year, I still have neuropathy in my right shoulder--numbness, burning (especially when I'm stressed), and weirdly, I experience issues with my shoulder joint. My GP snubs my issue when I bring it up.
Anyone have any experience with this kind of issues? Is there a type of doctor I can see to get some relief?
Thanks for your response. I've had several X-rays and a cat scan. Still have the neuropathy but it's slowly getting better. The shoulder joint issue is greatly improved
i have neuropathy in my feet. some days i have no pain, some days i have mild pain, and some days i want to cut my feet off with a chainsaw they hurt so bad.
I went into the hospital in the spring of 2016 with pneumonia. It turned into a horrible pain in my shoulders which after e-rays, sonogram, and CAT scans showed I had sternoclavicular joint pain, and if left untreated could be deadly. Have you had a chest x-ray CAT scan done of your chest? My ID doctor had set all that up. A year and a half later, my right collarbone is still swollen (not nearly as bad as it was though) but insurance will not cover another scan. It hurts like hell at times.
Hi LeoThomas. I've suffered with neuropathy for quite a few years and still deal with it currently. Seeing a neurologist or your ID doctor should be able to give you something. I have bounced around over the years between Lyrica and Gabapentin with the doses changing. Hang in there! Finding the right treatment will help.
Hang in there, Niecy! Feel better!
