Text the word RESIST to 50409.
That's a computerized letter generator. You can send a text, and it will ask you anything else. After each text. You will get prompts to continue. When your are fine with the registration process of it, you'll get texts from it every few days asking if you want to send a message to your representatives. Once your done saying what you want, the computer generated a professional letter, sends it to your congressional representative and your senators. It faxes them to their offices and let's you know when it had been delivered.
Maintain professionalism! The secretaries in these offices toss the letters that have profanity. The computer doesn't know text lingo, so no acronyms. The more respectfully you can be, the better.
I have sent multiple letters this way on multiple topics including the healthcare bill. I let my congressman know that his vote would determine whether I campaigned for or against him in 2018. I have gotten a few letters back from his office. After the vote, I sent one and politely thanked him for committing political suicide. Myself and others locally have every intention of campaigning against him. These politicians need to hear from us. If they don't listen, we can hold them accountable on election day.
Any local town hall with your congressman, get there. Any way you can volunteer for or against, do it. We cannot just sit back and wait for Washington to allow corporations like the insurance industry or any industry write legislation or run our country.
