Well, actually we can sort of drop in to lots of historical events as an observer. That's how historians help us. I am a fan of Heather Cox Richardson and Joanne Freeman. Plus there are some treasure troves of historical documents. Did you all know that during WW2 the Army published a series of pamphlets called "Army Talks"?
