My Dan, the one who never really got away, we married different people & when I tested positive and my husband tested negative my ex held on to me. We lived across the country from each other. He even bought me a pregnancy massage certificate after my father died when I was 7 months pregnant & newly diagnosed. When my husband spent his money & the bar my Dan would send me money so I could afford my ART refills, to pay my phone bill, buy my son b-day & x-mas presents.

Well, the person I have for support right now, even though we separated as a couple 4 years ago, is my ex. She's the only one who knows what I'm going through and she won't let go of me. She keeps checking on me, seeing how I am, how I feel, giving me words of encouragement, and always making sure I take my medication on time.

Well both my late husband and id pcp were my biggest cheerleaders over the years ....i

I say that because each one was happy when I made an accomplishment...

My id pcp was worried about my eye hand coordination whereas husbsnd was more worried about my ability to lifr my legs and feet so if there was a situation that required that I need to run ....

Husbsnd saw to it that the Dr's question was fully answered by coming home from the road and giving me a " road test " by taking me driving one day and having me drive 10 miles out and back which he managed to be able to call my id pcp to tell her what. his thoughts were .

( with him being an otr trucker she trusted his judgment without question ) ....

Then it became her turn my next 3 month checkup she had me go to the rehab section of the hospital where I was told to run on the treadmill :) ...

Hell I managed to get to 3 miles before getting winded which made each one happy so I too was happy because I proved to them that their past worries were unwarranted :) .
