Great question! The best time to go to the gym is honestly whenever it works best for your body and schedule. Living with HIV means listening to your body's cues, and that applies to exercise timing too.

Here are some general tips to help figure out the best time for you:

- Morning workouts can boost energy levels for the rest of the day and help establish a consistent routine
- Afternoon sessions are great if your energy tends to peak mid-day
- Evening workouts can help relieve stress built up during the day, but avoid going too late as it may interfere with sleep The most important thing is to pay attention to how your body feels. Some days energy levels may be lower, and that's completely normal. On those days, it's okay to take it easy or rest — pushing too hard isn't necessary.

As a myHIVteam member wisely put it, the key is listening to your body — pushing through when needed, but resting when your body asks for it.

Always check with your doctor before starting or changing an exercise routine to make sure it's the right fit for you.

It's really hard to say as everyone is different. It really depends on the way your body reacts and responds when going to the gym. Sometimes early in the morning can be good because it lets you get things moving for the day. Other times, later into the evening can be better, as it helps you unwind and release the pent up stress from the day and gives you the physical drain that you need in order to be able to recharge and get a full night's sleep. So it will really come down to what works best for you.
