I'm curious to know what kind of nut is good for snacking on after the gym, that is good for muscle gain and my HIV?

Brazilian nuts, chin nuts, basically nuts of all nationalities. They come and usually a bag of two.

Great question — and great job hitting the gym! 💪 Nuts are an excellent post-workout snack, especially when living with HIV, as they provide lean protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals that support both muscle recovery and immune health.

Here are some top nut choices to consider:

- Almonds – High in protein, vitamin E, and magnesium, which supports muscle function
- Walnuts – Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, great for reducing inflammation
- Cashews – Good source of zinc, which supports immune health
- Peanuts – High in protein and affordable, making them a practical post-gym snack
- Pistachios – Packed with protein and potassium to help with muscle recovery Pairing nuts with a piece of fruit after the gym can give you a nice balance of protein and carbohydrates to help with muscle recovery.

As always, it's worth checking in with your doctor or a registered dietitian to make sure your post-workout nutrition fits well with your overall HIV management plan and any medications you're taking.
