Itching is something many people with HIV experience, and it can have several causes related to the virus or antiretroviral medications.

Some possible reasons include:

- HIV itself can affect the skin and cause widespread itching
- Reactions to antiretroviral medications, especially at the start of treatment
- Changes in the immune system that can manifest in the skin
- Opportunistic infections that sometimes present with skin symptoms. The most important thing is to discuss this with your doctor as soon as possible, especially if the itching is intense, persistent, or accompanied by a rash, redness, or other new symptoms.

Your medical team will be able to determine if the itching is related to HIV, a specific treatment, or if you need further evaluation. Don't ignore any new symptoms, no matter how minor they may seem. 😊

Algunas razones posibles incluyen:

We are all here for you to help u along this journey. Go to the Ryan White Foundation Website, thers a bunch of information ther as well as resources for help. I will not go to an hiv Dr that isn't listed with the Ryan White Foundation bcuz the treatment quality is betr with drs they list. You can go on the website and find a Ryan White Foundation Dr near you. Ryan White Foundation is the goto place for anyone living with hiv. I registered with them in Arizona back in Feb 2012. I also use the Harvard Medical Website for information on hiv n the latest treatment n advances for hiv care. Stay positive n stay healthy n follow ur medication n treatment plan religiously n u can get n stay undetectable. Undetectable equals untransmittable! My wife of 7yrs 4 months n 18 days has been negative the whole time n we don't use protection during sex. Life doesn't end just bcuz we hav HIV, it just has to be lived cautiously n by law anyone we choose to be with must be told up front otherwise we cud face arrest for non disclosure of a communicable infectious disease n cud get charged with attempted manslaughter bcuz pepl who contract it from poz pepl don't end up finding out til its been a long time n has started to do damage to ther bodies. I know how it feels not knowing for a long period of time bcuz I contracted it from my ex who cheated on me multiple times. It's hard to accept at first but the day I was told im undetectable n untransmittable was a great feeling to know I beat the virus by doing everything im supposed to do. Wish u the best n again we're all here to assist u on this life journey.

I truly appreciate everybody’s responses…🥰 It reminds me that everybody’s individual diagnosis is different. ☺️ I know that my diagnosis I have never experienced the itching 😣or anything like that, but I do know that skin tends to change overtime and becomes more sensitive.😳 So I have included in my hygiene regimen to bathe with “safeguard antibacterial soap 🧼 “which kills germs and then I wash a second time with “Dove soap 🧼” to soften and moisturize my skin afterwards. So in case it’s not the diagnosis of HIV 🦠you may need to reconsider the detergent 🫧🧼you use to wash your clothing, 👗👚the soaps you use and any other type topical lotions 🧴 or perfumes you use could be causing irritation. I do know when I was taking tramadol for pain… 😖Tramadol has a way of causing itching as well. So you might have to take a look at some of the medication you’re taking for pain 🤔and also for the diagnosis.🦠. Let’s not forget we all need to have a therapist to help us to sort out challenging mindset because the mind 😬has a way of playing tricks on our bodies as well causing us to itch or become inflamed when there’s really nothing wrong.😑 So make sure when you go to the doctor that you tell them everything and don’t be ashamed. I love you all and thank you for sharing.♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️
