Welcome to the UK, the Country where nothing works.. Plumber came today, as my water heater is faulty. He can't get the spare parts for several days at least. I feel like I'm living in a third World Country. Can't take a shower or do washing up. I have chronic OCD, so that makes things much worse. How would you cope?

Members rallied around someone facing several days without hot water due to a faulty heater, offering practical solutions drawn from their own experiences with similar situations. Several members shared strategies including boiling water on the stove for sponge baths, taking quick cold showers despite the discomfort, and using a bowl with a washcloth and small amount of shampoo to freshen up between full baths. A recurring theme was the relief and gratitude expressed when hot water was finally restored, with members celebrating together when the original poster shared that their new cylinder had been successfully installed.

In between full baths, I regularly wash up with a bowl, wash cloth, small amount of shampoo in the water. Afterwards, I brush the furry places, add a little deodorant, or aftershave. I used to call it a whore bath. We can skip the place where you wash your feet.🤠
