Being a very honest guy, I told him I'd been HIV positive on treatment for 30 years. After that, I didnt hear from hear from him at all.

I can't answer it directly because I'm in a relationship but I do know that it when I was dating and on all those sex apps I really never had a question about HIV other than sexual if we were going to be intimate. The dating process was a little different because I selected men that were mature and understood death in the sense of having dealt with it in some way whether a parent or sibling a partner cancer or AIDS. That was al very important to me in that they understood mortality and the life that I was looking to live. Not many men got that deep but I did manage to find that one.
It’s definitely demoralizing, I tried dating two times and each time I’m coming to the realization that people will just see me for my status. And then the ones that are judging my status aren’t lining up with my values. I don’t know. I just can’t catch a break. I’ve started to just think I should just work on myself more and somebody would notice me but it’s been five years nobody’s noticed. It’s not that I’m giving up, but I’m just not actively trying anymore.
I had a guy say he couldn't deal with me being positive but he hoped I found someone. At least he was honest he lived closer by too. But I'm okay with rejection just not being sexually active sucks. My ex doesn't make me feel like I'm a germ but he's way a hour and half away. So we just text on the phone til I get tired and go to sleep. He's about the only guy besides one other I talk to . But the other guy is busy and lives in another state. I quite frankly don't know if he really likes me at all.
It's all about the way you disclose. Some folks will disclose in a negative way and that leave suitors questioning how long they have left. The way I do it is to say: Good news I'm positive and take one pill a day to make me undetectable. This means we can bareback. I have yet to hear a negative comment.
