Someone just informed me that their friend contracted HIV from the Pfizer shot. They say that their blood also thickened and that person had a stroke.

Is it possible, could it be true?

While vaccines can have side effects, contracting HIV is not one of them. The COVID-19 vaccines have been extensively tested and are considered safe for people living with HIV. In fact, COVID-19 vaccines are especially important for people with HIV since they may be at higher risk for severe COVID-19 illness. If you hear concerning claims about vaccine safety, it's best to:
• Discuss them with your healthcare provider
• Get information from reliable medical sources
• Be wary of unverified stories spreading on social media or by word of mouth

Your healthcare provider can address any specific concerns about vaccine safety and your individual health situation.

I'm a nurse that gives immunizations. Every needle is single use. And nothing's double dipped as you would say, the needles are disposed of after every shot.

There is no chance that could happen @A myHIVteam Member. I'm sorry I know that you are somewhat of a theorist of sorts but this kind of rhetoric doesn't serve the population here. The covid shot is extremely helpful for those of us who are immune suppressed, .... If you have other underlying conditions, please talk to your doctor but as a general rule , vaccines work!!!
