Members shared a wide range of personal rituals and mindset shifts in response to the question of what they do to feel good about themselves. Several members described physical self-care routines like working out, getting manicures, wearing makeup, and dressing up, while others found meaning through volunteering, dog walking, and giving back to their communities. A recurring theme was the power of gratitude, spiritual growth, and resilience, with many describing how staying active, embracing positivity, and letting go of what they cannot control brings them joy and peace.

I decided that HIV was going to be my death or reinventing. Mind opened, heart opened, learned to be judged more aware of meditation, watching content of midstream and aiming for the Happiness that surpasses all sorrow. Buddhism 2 years after diagnosis 1995. 30 years ago. I truly survived hell and a toxic family that was destroying itself with addiction and mental illness.

I moved on and away.
Returned to help Mom with Dementia. Then long term care more intimate help needed. We had a great 5 years. Renovation of whole house a huge learning curve. How hard can it be? 400% profit when sold. Very successful.

Dad was really falling apart and those were 4 more really happy years no more issues just stopped taking anything personally from anyone.

Freed me up. But Dad was a sarcastic cynical and great experience as we reinvented put relationship.

9/2023 and 4/2024 mom/dad passed both 95!

I am broke 💔. Lost all my life savings as I financed the complete 3.5 year renos. POA brother iced me out, took 50% of profits and they have 2 homes and 7 figures assets. Ripping off a disabled senior.

Karma - brother in last week of life. Hes been battling Alzehmeirs for 17 years but told no one to hold power.

H'oponopono. Non stop. Forgiveness of myself for not creating a contract in advance.

But money can't buy you safety. Just choices. I am at peak health, and sadly brother won't see end if August in final days.

I take no joy in the suffering he created and then had to experience.

Universe saw me through it. Cottage and yard at 1980 prices and no rent increase in 11 years.

I am so grateful blessed and happy with my life and my choices.

Avoid court. Lawyer said he will have you in appealing cases until he's dead and you'll go broke a 2nd time. Walk away.

You can win in court but brother doesn't have to pay the decision of the court. Can't force it out of pockets.

I walked away and created myself anew a 7th time that I can count. Comeback King!

Its a good life if you don't weaken ... and its not so bad when you wobble fall amd try again!

Gratitude is my secret
Letting go is the tool
And knowing when to stop
We are all doing the best we can. Nog everyone studied the Science of Happiness for 28 years.

It works!!!

I take one day at a time and focus on the positives. Sometimes it's hard but I keep moving. 🙂

I try to workout everyday, usually I would do two(2) miles on the treadmill and some abs exercise. Also I enjoy reading the newspaper and try to keep up to date on current events.

I feel much better about myself. Lost most of the weight i gained when I moved to Los Angeles. I’m still working on my spiritual journey. Going from Mormonism to a nondenominational church. It’s not easy.
