I have read that the current recommendations are the ratio, but my Dr still wants me to take a statin. My LDL-C is 96, but ratio is 1.3, well within the healthy range.
My triglycerides are through the roof. The doctor just put me on a McStatin.
I refuse to take a McStain. I'll give up eating first (not really)
My hdl ldl Cholestorol were within acceptable levels, however my overall Cholestorol went slightly above recommended levels. I then told my HIV Consultant to instigate a suitable Statin to prevent future possible Heart Disease. He agreed to my request and I started Rosuvastatin last January.. I tend to tell my Consultant what to do, rather than waiting for him to offer something. He doesnt mind me telling him what I want, and he never refuses any reasonable requests that I have. Sometimes he likes to have a Cigarette between seeing difficult Patients. And I have joined him outside the Hospital entrance a few times. He tells me I'm his Star Patient,so we have a very good relationship🙂
My cholestorol is sky high. My Dr is focusing on my LDL. But my HDL is increasing. I've decided to waive the statins for now.... I have to know if it's my intermittent fasting. I'ma stop fasting a week prior to my next test. They don't tell you, but loosing weight can increase your cholesterol since your body is burning body fat.
My doctor focuses on Total Cholesterol, HDL Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol and Triglycerides.
