Im finding that HIV is not a problem, but everything else in life is hard to deal with. For example, having been on anti retroviral treatment for 30 years now, everything else I encounter in life is a struggle. I deal with my treatment, and anything HIV related easily. The Week just gone, Ive had to deal with 2 lesions on my head and go to the Dermatologist, then see a Podiatrist for my involuted toenail and yesterday my ceiling was leaking water again. So you deal with these issues and then… read more

Members connected deeply around the question of whether HIV itself has become manageable while everything else in life feels overwhelming, sharing struggles with housing problems, exhaustion, health issues beyond HIV, and moments of dark thoughts. Several members offered both emotional support and practical wisdom, including one who compared life to an old house where there's always a leak somewhere, and others who reminded each other that connection, pets, grandchildren, and faith can be powerful reasons to keep going. A recurring theme was that while life with HIV brings unique challenges including inflammation-related conditions and medical fatigue, the community finds strength in venting honestly, supporting one another, and holding on to what brings meaning.

I do agree Mark. I have no heating in my flat. The toilet doesn't work. It's making me so miserable. I don't even want to be in my property at the moment. My TV doesn't work. The only company I have is my radio. Then I have no hiv clinic. Its not looking great. Helen x ❤️

I believe that HIV yes can be controlled And can save us from impending doom. However HIV causes a lot of inflammation which leads to other things . I’m waiting on an MRI scan since they found white matter in my brain which could be inflammation from HIV or could be MS.Dont know if MS can be caused by HIV or not . All I know before HIV I never had all these issues or I’m just getting older lol

I moved to Milwakee to help my daughter with her 5 kids. My lazy (_l_) son in law didn’t tell me they were behind on their rent when I moved in. I was helping him with rent money to ease the burden on him since 4 of these kids aren’t his.

I found out a couple of weeks ago when my son in law asked me to go to court with him, that he was behind on his rent. He told me the owners sent him a summons. The court gave him 3 days to move out.

For 2 weeks we’ve been living in a motel. It’s costing me $954 a week so far.

They are not in a hurry to look for a place to live. Why should they, they have this pendejo to pay the motel.

I really don’t know what to do.

The only reason I’ve been staying is the 5 grandkids. The oldest is 9 years old and the baby just turned 2.5. The baby is his child the other kids have a different dads. So he doesn’t have blood relation with the other 4. Even if their mother lets them down I don’t have the heart to.

I told my son in law I’m running out of money to see if he’ll get motivated to look for a job or do his door dash.

The lazy (_l_) bitch still hasn’t gone to work.

If I leave they have no one they can turn to for help.

I don’t have the heart to leave my grandkids in this situation. I feel I would be turning my back on them.

I was in the hospital for over 5 months and in bed for 2.5 years sick as hell with full blown AIDS, I sometimes think it would have been better to have fallen sleep and not woken up.

But these rug rats motivate me to keep pushing forward.

I know there’s someone going through a worse situation.

Your right Mark their are other issues we have to deal with besides being HIV +. We just to have to hang on tight.

I’m sorry people, I’m not complaining, Mark wrote something that gave me the courage to vent.

In San Diego I had this friend RIP, she was in her 90’s. I would ask her, “how are you doing today?” She’d tell me, “ you know like an old house there’s always a leak somewhere but I’m ok.”

It could be worse.
