HIV happened to all of us. It's effects vary from person to person. If it didn't happen to you, would you have done anything differently than what you're doing right now?

Members reflected deeply on how HIV profoundly changed their life trajectories, with many describing it as an unexpected catalyst for positive transformation despite its challenges. Several members shared that their diagnosis forced them into critical self-examination, stopping destructive patterns of substance abuse, reckless behavior, or toxic relationships, with some crediting HIV with literally saving their lives by making them more health-conscious, resilient, and purposeful. A recurring theme was the bittersweet recognition that HIV closed certain doors like international retirement plans, career advancement, or higher education while opening others including meaningful advocacy work, peer support communities, and a deeper appreciation for self-love and living in the present moment.

Probably due to the fact I seroconverted just 15 months ago; and nothing has changed; I don't think so.
BUT, had I seroconverted in the 1980's I would have been on a totally different part of life both in career and relationships.
