Encouraged myself to go back and get my g.e.d. praying to do well on the real tests. Next semester

Often, when an elderly person with deficits is moved to a new location, their ability to compensate in a familiar environment is lost. Family will say the person "wasn't like this at home." And they are right, loss of a familiar environment often precipitates a crisis of self... a "Who am I?" moment.

That is why moving to an assisted living facility is better done when a person can still adjust and feel like it is their choice. They are not being moved against their will. (But, who does that?!). Most often, loved ones become injured at home (break a hip). Are hospitalized. Then they are moved directly into a nursing home. Recovery of self is difficult under those circumstances. Glad you are caring for your father @A myHIVteam Member. I did the same.❤️

So glad I've obtained 4 degrees and enjoying them. One written and produced play of mine focusing on HIV secrecy and another in the making.

I finished writing a memoir this year which I'm very proud of and hope to get it published.

On a more serious note , I think living life with HIV is my biggest accomplishment. Having done more than survive this virus I am living it. Every day is a challenge but every day is a new opportunity to do something fabulous and memorable. I think most of us here should give ourselves a good pat on the back. 🙏❤️
