Members rallied around someone investigating an enlarged liver diagnosis, sharing educational insights about the autoimmune liver tests being ordered (mitochondrial M2 and smooth muscle antibodies) and explaining how liver inflammation affects bile flow and stool color. Several members offered personal experiences with hepatitis C, gallbladder removal, and the diagnostic process itself, emphasizing that most tests serve to rule things out rather than confirm a problem, and that negative results are exactly what you want. A recurring theme was the relief and celebration when all blood work and stool tests came back normal, with encouragement to wait for the ultrasound results before making lifestyle changes, balanced with honest information about alcohol's impact on liver health and the importance of self-advocacy throughout the medical journey.

You can be more prone to colds and allergies and just feeling like shit. I know you're new and I want to assure you for the most part. You're gonna be really good. And that's my story and the ones I know of my friends and my exes. You can get hit by a bus tomorrow....so...

Thanks Paul I tested negative for hep c still waiting for the autoimmune tests and stool samples test. So far all the other liver and some pancreas tests are all normal. My doctor mentioned an ultrasound test but I think he’s waiting for all the bloodwork and stools to all come back first. I on the other hand would have liked the ultrasound first since that will definitely rule out or confirm his 2 minute touching of my abdomen that my liver is enlarged. It’s weird I have no symptoms of liver disease or damage except for his diagnosis of enlarged liver and the lighter then normal stools which is only sometimes. In fact if it wasn’t for the stool issue I probably wouldn’t have even went to the doctor but I’m a hypochondriac lol. I did have a higher then normal range of alkaline phosphate in April when I got my blood work from my ID doctor.however the endocrinologist rechecked it this week and it’s back down to normal again.mystery abound😵‍💫.i guess I will know in the next week or two. Hope you’re right it might be nothing. However I do drink one or two times a week probably like 8 beers a week. What’s funny I asked my doctor if I should stop drinking until I get all results back he says no keep doing what you doing till we know if there a problem. I wanted to punch him lol he’s telling me he feels an enlarged liver but says I can still drink for now lol
