What Have You Done That You Never Would Have Done Before Hiv
Hiv makes me ponder life and death. While I know from what everyone says I have a lot of life left to live. However it makes me think of my mortality. I’ve noticed the days go by quicker and I question did I make the most of it. Since being diagnosed I speak my mind and don’t take any bull from anyone. At the same time I say hi to strangers something I never did before.i look at the sky and take a deep breath and look at all the beauty that we take for granted. What do you guys and gals do if… read more

It isn't so much what happens to us that matters. It's how we react that determines our future.
I have learned to love life..my life..my beliefs and my goals..last week I gained my Peer Recovery Coach certification..chose that over RN degree...live is more meaningful since my dx in March 2001..I'm a survivor and nothing cab deter me
I personally took the money the money I received in law suit from getting hypitits and HIV. Did Europe. Even fell in love. Got divorced. Have lived this life. Best way I can
I was diagnosed with HIV 24 years ago. I had a terrible experience, the worker told me not to see a doctor, it wouldn't do much for me anyhow. WHEW that was quite a ride. Anyhow, when I crawled out of my boo hoo hole and realized that I had life yet to live, I started, timidly at first, setting goals. First I decided I wanted to graduate from college. I had started, but I had never finished. So, I went to school and studied literature. The next thing I knew, I graduated. From there, I got a MA in British Literature, and considered a PhD, but my work sent me for an MBA. I would NEVER have done that, I didn't have any discipline, and I thought I had FOREVER before. After that, I had a few health scares. I wound up having Stevens Johnson Syndrome and spent a month in the intensive care burn unit (dang meds). Either way, after that I went to law school, got my Juris Doctor, and then my LLM and opened a law firm. Work life balance became important, so I went into business for myself. I would not have done any of these things had I not been diagnosed with HIV. Between getting a reality of check that life is short, I lost most of my family to bigotry. At the end of the day, it pushed me to live an actual life where before I was stuck in my boo hoo hole. Things are always changing. I have cardiac problems now, and I'm in denial, but the past 24 years have been far more productive since my wake up call back in 2000.
