As we grow older our libido lessens. Trials have proven that HIV in the long-term does lessen our sex drive.

Members had an open and honest conversation about whether sex plays a vital role in their lives with HIV, sharing a wide range of experiences from strong ongoing desire to years of celibacy after diagnosis. Several members described how HIV, medications, aging, trauma, and body image challenges have shaped their relationship with intimacy, while many emphasized that emotional closeness, trust, and companionship can be just as fulfilling. A recurring theme was the weight of stigma and feeling like 'damaged goods,' met with warm encouragement from the community to reclaim joy and self-worth.

I do like sex but some may disagree with the fact that sex isn’t a staple in a relationship.

Sexual intimacy and adventure is important in our relationship. 😉 While practices, activities or events may have changed over the years, I’m very lucky. My taste in men ages with me and we still enjoy each other’s physical company very much. What can I say? It takes one to know one and we are 2 dirty old men who bumped into each other in the middle of one night (in actuality it was a Yahoo chatroom, remember those?) 23 years ago like ships in the night. The rest is history and by George, do I have stories to tell…🤭

Don’t forget whatever you do to have fun, be kind to yourself and enjoy ur journey…

It's been so long I don't know I haven't been with anybody since I was diagnosed and that was 1999 it's been too long now I don't want to be with anybody the first 10 years was rough now I'm just used to it I wouldn't even know how to be intimate with anybody that's been so long and it feels weird now I can't do no casual hookup anyway I have to have meaning behind it I don't need a orgasm that bad anymore
