Medication Storage In Hot Countries
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Where and how do you store HIV medication in hot Countries? We have an extreme heatwave in the UK, but HIV medication should not be stored at more than 77 fahrenheit. We dont have airconditoning as standard in the UK.

Keep it in the coolest part of your flat that may be a cupboard or at least closer to the floor where it is always a little cooler. I don't have that issue on Maui. Another option would be to store it in the refrigerator and only removing what you need per dose.

Thank You Kaneohe96724. Sadly theres no cool places in the London Apartment..It wasnt designed for global warming. The Roof absorbs the Sun during the day and intense heat radiates into the building later on in the evening and night. Are you are making a good recovery in Maui from the Hurricane? I had the pleasure of making a 3 night stop in Honolulu ,Oahu en route from Los Angeles to Sydney, but not enough time to visit the other Islands.

@A myHIVteam Member, I live in Michigan. In the summer, it gets very hot and humid here. 95F/35C air temp and 120F/49C humidity temp. I don't have air conditioning. I just use silica gel packets. They keep the meds dry. You also do not need central air conditioning, you can have just a window air conditioner. If air conditioning is not an option, a dehumidifier can help also.
