My work has had me in several states. I am Californian and incredibly happy with the beyond care and support of so many organizations and a large HIV community statewide especially LA, PS, SD, SF. I also don't pay 1 cent. I also applaud MA, NY which even covered acupuncture and massage at the time and thumbs down to AZ, NC, NV where it was better to fly to CA for my care.

I lived in San Diego Ca for 40 years. I live in Denver now. I was diagnosed in 1989 but must have been infected 1983 or before. This I know because I was celibate from 1983 to 2000.

It was my own fault getting this virus. I knew hiv was out there and I still had unprotected sex almost everyday of the week thinking this only happens to the other guy not me.

I’m finally undetectable now for a little over a year.

I’m back to being celibate. It’s very hard to stay that way to say the least.

Heck I don’t even masterbate but I do enjoy wet dreams when they happen.

My Heath has been through the wringer. HIV left my blind in 1 eye, kidney failure liver issues I’m
very forgetful. I even forgot why I was writing all this.

If anyone is in the Denver, Arvada area and want to chat let me know.

Good health to you guys.

California New York Illinois all the big blue Democratic cities are very kind to us. I personally love california. I visited there quite often and would love to retire on the beach but the homelessness problem far outweighs the medical availability to me as an HIV person. My quality of life and my surroundings are very important for me to live a long life. So I choose the suburbs of Western Illinois where politics and all that don't matter to me and my neighbors since we're an educated group here.

I’ve looked into this a bit when considering a different place to retire. Hawaii seems good for care, but is otherwise expensive. I’ll probably stay where I am.
