The best public health option is prevention, PreP was demonstrated in SF, NY, LA, MI to stem the spread of HIV. For folks on ARV you can not transmit the virus (GLBTQ or heterosexual) why attack an evidence based practice?

People will have sex, it will be protected and unprotected. Why villify a community of people who are disproportionately affected by denying access to preventative meds? This is the attempt to create a culture war on what has actually stemmed the spread of a virus that effects everyone.

By making a religious based arguement is to say “as a Christian, I only have sex with a member of the opposite sex in a monogamous life long relationship” is ludicrous. So many “straight” men who have sex with men, cheat, overwhelmingly rape women and children, this isn’t just a moral issue it’s a systemic issue about the human condition.

This is a shitty attempt to deconstruct decades of AIDS/HIV prevention that has informed public health and policy. If sex is the problem then no more blue pills for old straight men?

Again prevention is key to stopping this virus from affecting more people who aren’t already us. I also want to say there are some shit kickers on here who are wolves in sheep’s clothing dirtying the water.

It's not going to be just Texas. As nd it's not just going to me HIV meds. It's going to be everything. Just think about all those on Medicare and/or Medicaid they will be soon too. It's going to be if you have this or that and you have been on this or that for so long we can't pay for it any more. We need to give it to others. LGBTQ+, seniors, special needs, and HIV are all going to be at risk. We are going to back slide on a lot of things, as we are able to genetically alter things.
