Members overwhelmingly welcomed the opportunity to learn more about monkeypox, with many emphasizing that increased awareness and information sharing are critical for the HIV-positive community. Several members shared valuable resources, including a Doctor Is In session from The Elder Initiative, a John Oliver video explaining America's response failures, and a firsthand account from an HIV-positive individual describing the excruciating pain of the illness. A recurring theme was strong encouragement for at-risk individuals to get vaccinated, with members describing efficient vaccine clinics and urging others not to underestimate the severity of the disease.

Here is a great article about a first hand account about going through Monkeypox illness by a guy who is HIV positive.

What a f@cking nightmare!

Here is how he describes the pain:
“ The worst thing I experienced was that whenever I had to defecate, it felt like I was passing broken glass, and I would literally scream in anguish.”
That’s painful to just read!
If you have a chance to get the vaccine and you are in the risk group please get it.
I was with my boyfriend at the Pride Center in Wilton manors Florida getting him to get his vaccine. They were doing 30-40 guys a hour. And they were going quick.

Took my boyfriend to get his Monkeypox shot Friday and other than site soreness and little fatigue no bad side effects.
Here is a video from John Oliver that explains the problems with Americas mismanagement of the handling of the disease.

Funny but Also contains some good current information about the illness.

-We had a test for it
-We had a vaccine for it
-And we have treatment for it
and we still f@cked it up.

I don't think I'm that much of a risk for contracting it but I'm always interested in new viruses. I just find the interesting studying the different aspects.
