Members shared the charitable organizations that resonate most with their personal experiences, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Red Cross, LGBTQ+ advocacy groups, homelessness support, lupus and cancer research foundations, and HIV/AIDS service organizations like Good Days and Ave 360. Several members described hands-on involvement, from volunteering at food banks and shelters to starting foundations in honor of loved ones, walking in AIDS fundraisers, and directly helping homeless friends and neighbors with meals, clothing, and shelter. A recurring theme was the deep connection between personal experience with illness, loss, or hardship and the drive to give back, with many emphasizing that helping others brings a sense of purpose, contentment, and community.

I like The Trevor Project and any alcohol/drug recovery programs. I donate to/shop at thrift stores that support recovery centers and houses.

I have worked for the AIDS cause starting in the 80's. A lot of volunteer work, and also on two ASO Boards. I am a climate activist working exclusively with The Nature Conservancy, National Defense Resource Council, and Greenpeace.

I support a local pet rescue with a monthly donation. I was also doing the same for the ASPCA but had to tighten my belt over the summer.

Mine is an organization called Good Days. They helped pick up the tab on my HIV/HepB meds (Biktarvy) that my insurance doesn't cover. They were a lifesaver!!
