Members openly discussed the difficulty of quitting smoking, with many sharing that it took multiple attempts, serious health scares, or major life events like pregnancy or hospitalization to finally stop. Several members described practical strategies that worked for them, including switching to vaping, using nicotine replacement therapy like gum and patches, enrolling in free quit-line support programs, taking medications like Chantix or Wellbutrin, and identifying stress triggers to replace smoking with positive activities. A recurring theme was the importance of having strong support from non-smoking friends, finding personal motivation beyond external pressure, and acknowledging that quitting is a deeply individual journey with no one-size-fits-all solution.

you have to know your stress triggers for quitting cigarettes and you have to do what makes you happy hanging out with friends spending time alone trying that new recipe or challenge in life
