Members shared deeply personal reflections on what success means to them, with most agreeing it centers on self-acceptance, inner peace, and loving who you are rather than external achievements or wealth. Many community members described success as being true to yourself, maintaining strong relationships with friends and family, learning from mistakes without harsh self-judgment, and finding purpose through helping others. A recurring theme was the importance of measuring progress by small daily improvements, staying grounded in gratitude for basic needs like safety and shelter, and recognizing that genuine success comes from giving back to your community rather than accumulating material possessions.

I am always a work in progress. That means do not beat yourself up too badly for being human. I am hard on myself at times but that is only because of the mistakes I have made and learned a lesson from them. The worst thing I can imagine is not to have learned from these mistakes. I am fortunate in that I have wonderful friends who accept me. These people have become my family.

Living simply. Having a roof over your head and a comfy bed to sleep in. Having supportive friends and family. Having health and enough food on the table. Also, having the freedom and confidence to do what you need to do to make yourself happy. Having someone you love deeply and who you can share your life with. Also, having the space and ability to channel and act on your creative thoughts.

To be where I am now.
I’m happy with who I am, accomplished, my family and good friends.

My ideal definition of success is knowing I am better today than I was yesterday.
