My 18 yr old daughter was just diagnosed with hsv2

Hi guy, what your daughter has is herpes! HSV-2 is not related to HIV or Aides but is a sexually transmissible disease and when active could put her at a higher risk for contracting HIV especially when the virus is active ( blisters that are open)!

there is also suppressive therapy which is taken once daily in cases of abnormal outbreak frequencies

Hey Mike they have a prophylactic med for that which I think reduces the number of outbreaks and if she does have an outbreak I think it shortens the time! I'm not sure of the spelling but I believe it's called acyclivere!

Herpes symplex virus 2 is not hiv but you are 5 times more likely to contract hiv if herpes in in it’s flair up stage
