Falling CD4

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Abit worried. When I started medication, my CD4 was at 250(in Jan). Then it rose to 425 in February then 598 in March. However, this month it has dropped to 341!... I haven’t had any ailments of late, I religiously take my meds every morning with meals, I excercise and generally feel well. What might have caused that?... any ideas?...or is it a normal occurrence?. My VL has remained undetectable however.. please advise.

mine has always varied - one big thing that i found out on my own (i guess there is no real way to prove it), the more stress i was under, my numbers would go down but my VL stayed wherever it was. So if it's possible for you to reduce or eliminate extra stress, it has been my experience that it usually helps

even just being tired, not getting enough sleep, not having enough to eat can lower cd4 counts

Something I had to come to terms with a long time ago. You're a human being... A life form... Sometimes we just do things for no reason like dancing. CD4 cells are funny things. They can react to germs in the environment or fighting off a cold where you had no symptoms. Sure talk to your Dr. But I really don't think he could explain it much differently? Bottom line nothing goes up forever. There's always changes & fluctuations. Bottom line you're not a machine. Don't think of yourself as one.

I recently added CBD oil and my cd4 went from 800 to 1275. I know it’s high but 20 years ago it wasn’t. The meds have raised my t-cells and undetectable. Been pos for 28 years
