How has HIV been a POSITVE experience in your life?

I always see how people write how HIV is bad. I always seem to see the negative side, and people talking about the negative things about HIV. Yes usually the negative outweighs the positive, but how has HIV affected you in a positive way?

Members responded to the question of how HIV has been a positive experience with a wide range of deeply personal and hopeful reflections. Several members shared that their diagnosis pushed them to take better care of their health, leave unhealthy relationships, discover spirituality, and build careers in HIV advocacy and counseling. A recurring theme was gratitude for the meaningful community and connections formed along the way, with many saying HIV helped them slow down, live more intentionally, and appreciate life in ways they never had before.

Although HIV was a devastating experience, it was also a blessing. The positive side to it was that I had the opportunity to grow in the HIV/AIDS field as an advocate and HIV/AIDS counselor and tester when i started years ago to now as a Substance abuse counselor for people with and without HIV. I've met amazing people who really need our services and more amazing people who continue to fight for all our rights.

Hello everyone. I can say that HIV has made me get intouch with my spirituallity, weeded out my garden ( getting rid of all the negative people that were surrounding me), sharing my faith with others
