I'm scared of the consequences of lying to people I date about my status, so I tell them in the beginning.. Then the mood change it gets weird, or they say it's not a problem or issue and I never heard from them again or get the slow brush offs and one word reply..

Members rallied around someone fearful they would never find love after being rejected or ghosted by potential partners upon disclosing their HIV-positive status, with the overwhelming message being that honesty is not only the right thing to do but also a powerful filter for finding someone truly worthy. Several members shared hopeful personal stories of meeting accepting, loving partners after they stopped desperately searching and instead focused on self-worth, with some describing partners who attend appointments, ask questions, hold their hand, and even move in together despite the diagnosis. A recurring theme was that rejection often reflects a potential partner's ignorance or lack of education rather than the person's value, and that the right person will see past status and embrace the whole individual with patience, respect, and love.

The guy I'm currently in a relationship with was very sweet when I told him about my HIV. He pulled me in his arms and told me that everything will be ok. He would with go to my appts with me ask any questions and just hold my hand. I stopped looking for love and it found me. God will send you who you are supposed to be with, just be patient and love will find you.

Once I stopped looking for love, love found me! The person I'm dating never once held it against me, on the contrary, he's very communicative about my condition and doesn't hold it against me at all. We've been together about 9 months, I was diagnosed one year ago.... We just signed for a new place!! Believe me, sir, love will find you before you know it!
